Civil Engineering
About CIVIL Department
The Department of Civil Engineering was instituted in the year 2011. The department offers B.E. program in Civil Engineering with an intake of 60 students. The department is equipped with advanced laboratories and highly qualified and dedicated faculty members. Our department intention of achieving our graduates excel in design, build, and maintain the foundation for our modern society , roads and bridges, drinking water and energy systems, sea ports and airports, and the infrastructure for a cleaner environment. In order to develop the technical activities, the department organizes National and International level technical conferences, seminars and workshops. To meet and satisfy the industry advancements the students are motivated through industrial visits and projects.
To create successful professional Civil engineers, efficiently work for the economic development and the benefit of the country.
To provide students a dynamic learning environment facilitating open-ended design, problem-solving skills, team work, communication and leadership quality.
OBJECTIVE
To learn the principles and procedures of testing Concrete and Highway materials and to get hands on experience by conducting the tests and evolving inferences.
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
To understand the sampling and preservation methods and significance of characterization of wastewater.
To understand different important water quality parameters, their relevance to human health and their permissible limits
To identify the characterization of the sample and design the process required for treatment
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course the student will posses knowledge about Survey field techniques.
Surveying Laboratory is used to introduce the concept of survey through practical experiment. Main aim of this lab is to make the students familiarize with the basic surveying techniques. Surveying is the technique, profession, and science of determining the terrestrial or three-dimensional position of points and the distances and angles between them. A land surveying professional is called a land surveyor. These points are usually on the surface of the Earth, and they are often used to establish land maps and boundaries for ownership, locations like building corners or the surface location of subsurface features.
Surveyors work with elements of geometry, trigonometry, analysis, engineering, programming languages and the law. Surveying has been an element in the development of the human environment since the beginning of recorded history. The planning and execution of most forms of construction require it. It is also used in transport, communications, mapping, and the definition of legal boundaries for land ownership. It is an important tool for research in many other scientific disciplines
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
To expose the students to the testing of different materials under the action of various forces and determination of their characteristics experimentally.
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course student attains adequate knowledge in assessing both Physical and Engineering behaviour of soils through laboratory testing procedures.
The primary goal of this laboratory is to introduce junior and senior level undergraduate students to Geotechnical Engineering to understand the basic principles of soil mechanics (CE 6405). Students conduct standard laboratory experiments to classify soil and determine the mechanical properties such as permeability, compaction, consolidation, and strength. The properties of soil are critical for application in the design of foundations, dams, retaining walls, tunnels, offshore structures, and slope stability analysis. This laboratory work is supportive to the lecture material in Soil Mechanics (CE 6405) and is a prerequisite to coursework that may include Foundations Engineering (CE 6502) and more advanced elective courses in Geotechnics.
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this laboratory is to reinforce and enhance your understanding of the fundamentals of Fluid mechanics and Hydraulic machines. The experiments here are designed to demonstrate the applications of the basic fluid mechanics principles and to provide a more intuitive and physical understanding of the theory.
The main objective is to introduce a variety of classical experimental and diagnostic techniques, and the principles behind these techniques. This laboratory exercise also provides practice in making engineering judgments, estimates and assessing the reliability of your measurements, skills which are very important in all engineering disciplines.
MAJOR EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE
To develop skill to use software to create 2D and 3D models.
To introduce the students to draft the plan, elevation and sectional views of buildings in accordance with development and control rules satisfying orientation and functional requirements as per National Building Code.
At the end of the course the student acquires hands on experience in design and preparation of structural drawings for concrete / steel structures normally encountered in Civil Engineering practice.
In CAD lab with most up-to-date version of software, the students are acquiring knowledge about Designing and drafting of different structures, latest techniques, job information doubts in studies, software training etc.,
