Computing skills refer to the abilities and competencies required to effectively use computers and related technology for various purposes. These skills encompass a wide range of proficiencies, from basic computer literacy to more advanced technical knowledge. Cyber security skills involve understanding cyber security threats, best practices, and techniques to protect computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber threats. This includes knowledge of firewalls, antivirus software, encryption, and security protocols. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential for identifying, analyzing, and solving computing-related problems effectively. This includes troubleshooting technical issues, debugging code, and applying logical reasoning to solve problems. Through Training and Placement cell the ICT/Computing Skills can be organized for the students in our institution.

Digital Marketing Strategies

As part of the Computing Skills program, a two-day program on “Digital Marketing Strategies” was conducted at our institution on April 12 and 13, 2024. Led by Dr. N. Prakash, Assistant Professor from The American College, Madurai, this program focused on enhancing students’ understanding of digital marketing. Participants explored key concepts such as online branding, customer segmentation, SEO, social media marketing, content marketing, email campaigns, and paid advertising.Hands-on experience with tools like Google Analytics (GA4) allowed students to effectively manage websites, run targeted ad campaigns, and analyze performance metrics. Through real-world case studies, they discovered how businesses utilize digital platforms for innovation and growth. The engaging sessions and activities equipped attendees with practical strategies for creating compelling content and impactful marketing campaigns, empowering them to harness digital marketing effectively in their future careers.

 Advanced Database Technology

As part of the Computing Skills program, a five-day program on “Advanced Database Technology" was held at our institution from February 26 to March 1, 2024, led by Mr. S. Hari Krishna, Alumnus and Founder & CEO of HD Media Marketing. This program aimed to provide participants with essential skills in modern database systems and their applications in various industries. The curriculum covered the evolution of database technologies, including distributed databases, cloud systems, and NoSQL. Students engaged in hands-on activities, designing and building advanced database models while addressing real-world challenges such as data security, consistency, and performance issues. By examining practical applications and industry case studies from e-commerce, finance, and healthcare, participants gained valuable insights into how advanced database technologies can optimize data management and drive business innovation. The program inspired attendees to develop scalable solutions that positively impact their respective fields.

Advertising and Graphics Design

As part of the Computing Skills program, a three-day program on “Advertising and Graphics Design” took place at our institution from March 18 to 20, 2024, led by Mr. S. Hari Krishna, Alumnus and Founder & CEO of HD Media Marketing. This program offered students an in-depth exploration of the principles of visual design and its role in advertising. Participants learned fundamental design concepts, including composition, color theory, typography, and image manipulation. Through hands-on experience with Adobe Photoshop and other industry-standard tools, they applied their skills in practical projects. Mr. S. Hari Krishna highlighted the significance of graphic design in branding and multimedia, using real-world examples to demonstrate its impact. Sessions focused on photo correction, creative problem-solving, and branding techniques, while emphasizing storytelling's role in design. By the end of the program, students were motivated to innovate and apply their newly acquired skills in personal and professional contexts.
